The Second Annual Barnes Foundation Walk/Run for Life was held on August 28 and was a tremendous success! The event raised more than $35,000 for the American Cancer Society's Illinois Patient Navigation Services. Patient Navigation Services offers a full spectrum of hands-on cancer support. The organization provides information to understand any type of cancer diagnosis, practical day-to-day help and compassionate support. To learn more, visit: http://www.illinoiscancerhelp.org.

We extend our thanks to everyone who took part in and supported the event. Last year, the proceeds from the event helped fund the Road to Recovery program, which assists with transporting cancer patients to crucial medical appointments. We have already begun planning the event for 2011 and we hope to see everyone next year.
